Brian Evers, from the Albany Diocesan Office of Safe Environment will be offering a virtual Mental Health First Aid education program for older adults and those dealing with later life issues. The program also teaches risk factors and warning signs of specific illnesses like anxiety, depression, substance misuse, bipolar disorder, eating disorders and schizophrenia. It also includes training on Opioid overdose. COMING TO MASS DURING THE PANDEMIC
Please stay at home if you are feeling ill, your immune system is compromised, or if you are in the “at risk” category. All are dispensed from the Sunday obligation. When regulations permit, we will bring Communion to all those who are not able to attend. If you actively have the virus please wait until you are over it and then contact the rectory to receive at home.
1. Mass times are: St. Theresa, Windham – Saturday – 5:00 PM – In-Church Mass Sacred Heart, Palenville – Sunday, 9:00 AM – In-Church Mass
Immaculate Conception, Haines Falls – Sunday,11:00 AM – Drive-In Mass
NOTE: Times may change as guidelines and attendance necessitates.
2. Masks are mandatory. Hand sanitizer will be available at the doors and must be used. Gloves at
your discretion.
3. Practice social distancing (6’)
4. You must register: Palenville and Haines Falls contact Odette 518 589-5577 ICHaines@rcda.org Windham contact Siobhain 518 734-3352 stcjwind@rcda.org
Registration times will start Monday morning and will end at noon on the Friday before the Mass. If there are more people who wish to register than we can accommodate they will be placed on the list for the following week. You will have to register for the Drive-in Mass at Immaculate Conception as well as for the In-Church Masses at Sacred Heart and St. Theresa’s. When registering you will be asked your name and the names of all who will be with you, your phone number, and if you have difficulty getting around. If you are fearful of coming to the In-church Masses but would like to receive Communion please let either Siobhain or Odette know when you call. This information will be used for additional planning. (Also, see #13 below on listening to Mass from the parking lot.)
5. Please arrive 15 minutes before the start of Mass. Upon arriving at church, you must first check in with the Admissions volunteer at the main entrance and use the hand sanitizer there before being seated by the Ushers. Wait for an usher to lead you to a seat. You will be shown to your seat by the ushers. This is for safety reasons and so that we may safely fit the maximum number of people in the church. You probably will not be sitting in your usual seat so please be patient until life gets back to normal. At St. Theresa’s those with mobility difficulties will enter by St. Joseph’s Chapel.
6. There will be an Offertory Collection basket at the Admissions table at Sacred Heart and St. Theresa’s. An Offertory basket will be at the entrance and exits to the parking lot at Immaculate Conception. Please be as generous as your means allow. There will be no collection during Mass.
7. Please follow the directions of the ushers and parking volunteers.
8. Communion will be distributed AFTER Mass. Please follow the Usher’s or parking volunteer’s
directions for the safety of all. Maintain the 6’ distances. Keep your mask on, pull your mask down Rev. 070720

just before approaching the minister(Father/Deacon/EM), receive the host in your hand, say Amen softly, put the host in your mouth, pull up you mask as you walk away.
9. We are asking that ALL will receive Communion in the hand for sanitary reasons. Anyone who does not wish to receive Communion will proceed as their pew is directed but bypass the minister and exit. When all have exited the church, anyone who waited in their cars during Mass may receive Communion. Please follow Usher’s directions.
10. If you wish to light vigil candles, please wait until the church is empty at the end of Mass to do so.
11. Please do not use the restrooms. Restrooms in Sacred Heart and St. Theresa’s will be locked. If you need to use the restroom please see an usher. Restroom in Immaculate Conception will be open from the outside door only.
12. The crying room at St. Theresa’s will be closed.
13. We have purchased an FM transmitter for use at all three churches that will allow you to listen to the Mass on your car radio from the church parking lots. For now, this is the only way we can accommodate any overflow beyond our current capacities at Sacred Heart or St. Theresa’s (and it is also how everyone will be able to hear the outdoor Mass at Immaculate Conception). However, those for whom it would still be imprudent to attend Mass indoors may find attending and listening from the parking lot to be a viable alternative. Those staying in the parking lot for Mass will also be able to receive communion once everyone inside the church has exited. Here are the frequencies to listen in at each of the three churches:
  1. Sacred Heart, Palenville: Tune to 95.3 FM
  2. Immaculate Conception, Haines Falls: Tune to 107.5 FM
  3. St. Theresa’s, Windham: Tune to 90.5 FM
